Pull the TriggerMy female friend loves puns
it’s the only thing that made her happy.
One day she showed me her scars
and I said that it kind of triggered me,
but I didn’t mean anything by it.
Passing by the “do not enter” tape
into her house, I found her
in her room with her father’s magnum
in her mouth and
she mouthed out
“Should I pull the trigger Tyler”
and I was left speechless.
Chain ReactionI remember a long time ago,
I was on the bus
when we stopped for an elderly women
crossing the street,
which made my classmate late.
It was her 3rd late
which meant she failed the class
and that dropped her GPA
below a 2.5 which meant
her scholarship was taken away.
With no scholarship
she couldn’t afford college
so she dropped out.
She had too much pride
to go to community college
so she got a job at McDonalds
getting paid $5.15 an hour
because that is the minimum wage in Wyoming.
She couldn’t afford her apartment
living on $5 an hour
so she moved in with her mother.
Her father died when she was 13
and her mother worked 2 jobs
plus volunteering at the soup kitchen
on her days off
because she was very religious
(she would even bring her daughter too)
and even though she had little
she wanted to give back
to the people with nothing.
With another mouth to feed
her mother had to do overtime
at both her jobs
which meant she stopped going
to the soup kitchen
on her day off.
